Organization
Hokkaido Bunkyo University, reorganized its "Faculty of Foreign Languages" to "Faculty of International Studies" in 2021, is a University with two faculties, seven departments and four postgraduate courses. The origin of the university dates back to 1942 when Shintaro and Toshi Tsuruoka founded the "Hokkaido Nutrition school for Woman", the sixth nutrition school in Japan. Their aim was to produce experts who could improve the diet of and provide nutritional guidance to the people of Hokkaido. Through our long history, from a nutrition school to a junior college to a four-year University, and now with four graduate schools, we have cultivated the tradition of focusing on practical learning, "Tsuruoka-ism", and have produced capable human resources.

At Hokkaido Bunkyo University, we aim to foster human resources with worthwhile capabilities to contribute to human life.
We want our students to be people who can think and act in their own unique ways in the international community; people who can support the health and happiness of other people living in this complicated era through the fields of nutrition, medicine and education. In order to have a deep understanding of and kindness to other people, you must first have the experience of being on the receiving end of such understanding and kindness.
That is why we emphasize education that is people-centered.

- Students will be able to receive 40% exemption of tuition fees. Students who finds it difficult to continue attending university, due to difficulties in paying tuition fees are eligible to apply. The percentage of the exemption rate will change every year, by the number of the school credits.
